Abstract: Building on a previously presented concept of the Viscosity Loss Trapezoid (VLT), in this paper the author shows how the information contained in the VLT can produce a ‘viscous’ insight into the molecular weight distribution of an oil-soluble polymer such as a Viscosity Index Improver in formulated lubricants.
